Last Friday, our Deployment Club kids gathered for breakfast and crafts to celebrate the upcoming Holidays. This time of year can challenging for our families who have deployed family members. We had some GREAT helpers from Moody AFB who came and crafted and played games with our students. Thank you MAFB for your continued support.

Last week, our 5th grade girls were visited by our guest speaker, Casey Horne. Mrs. Horne showed us that our value is not dependent on how others view us but on how we view ourselves. The girls wrote their own negative thoughts and negative comments others may say about them on sticky notes and ripped them to pieces! We also talked about the importance of our words and how some words can feel like cotton (positive) and some words can be itchy like sandpaper (negative). Thank you Mrs. Horne for coming to speak with and inspire our girls to know their worth!

4th grade ELA students scrubbed in and used their reading skills to analyze patient charts and diagnose patients. We are happy to announce that all patients made a full recovery! 🥼🩻🩺

The Grinch paid a sneaky visit and decided to spread some fowl holiday mischief! He crept into the chicken coop, and let all the Dewar chickens run free! Some of our chicken tenders intervened and our ladies are safely back inside!

The festive fun continues in Miss Barfield's 2nd grade class! Students built gingerbread houses and read "How to Catch a Gingerbread Man," writing their own creative stories to go with it!

Monday, in Miss Barfield's class, we embraced the holiday spirit with our theme "Mistletoe kisses and candy cane wishes" while engaging in a meaningful physical science lesson. 🎄 Students observed the properties of matter through the reaction of candy canes in water, vinegar, and soda. After the experiments, they enjoyed their own candy canes!

Early Dismissal this Friday, December 20!

We're looking for donations for the PBIS Party! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!

Mrs. Webster’s class had so much fun practicing their writing skills in the “snow” today! ☃️

🐾 Our beloved therapy dog, Pretzel, has been busy making a difference in our school. He’s not just a furry friend; he’s a beacon of encouragement for our students! As students work through DIBELS and other final assessments before the holiday break, he’s there to offer support and celebrate their wins! 🎉🥨
Whether spreading holiday cheer or helping at car duty, Pretzel always makes our days a little brighter. How has Pretzel brought joy to you or your students? Share your stories below! 🎄❤️✨

Ms. Herman’s Pre-K class has been learning how to write a recipe list this week with their Gingerbread theme! The unit concluded by having students actually make their own gingerbread playdoh from their recipes they wrote during small groups!
