This week we’ve missed our students, but have worked hard to gather supplies and donations to create some amazing care bags for each and every one of them. We could not have done it without generous businesses and local churches. The response has been overwhelming and we are so very grateful! Care bags can be picked up on Friday from 11-1 during the lunch pick up. #learningatlpe #bettertogether #onelowndes

🌪️ Huge shout out to our incredible LPE teachers, staff, and their families! 💪 They voluntarily rolled up their sleeves and came together to clean up Hurricane Helene debris🌳 from our campus! 👏 Their hard work and commitment are truly inspiring and proof that we are BETTER TOGETHER! We can't wait to welcome our students back! #learningatlpe #bettertogether

To wrap up their volcano🌋 unit, students in Miss King's and Dr. Hilson's classes built volcanoes from scratch and erupted them! There was a little bit of mess 😲 and a whole lot of 😁fun! #learningatlpe

Mrs. Bowen's first graders read, “Make Way for Ducklings” and learned about mallard ducks. 🦆 They used wax paper and water droplets to simulate how duck feathers stay dry. #learningatlpe

Second grade is learning about measuring and making estimates . Mrs. Conaway's students estimated the lengths of the different parts on the🦸♀️ “Magnificent Mrs. Conaway” poster (as they named her 😉). After making estimates, they measured with rulers📏 to see how close their guesses were. The students loved this activity and got a good laugh at the poster! 🤣 #learningatlpe

We are looking forward to seeing our families tomorrow night for our first LPE Family Night of 2024-2025! #learningatlpe

🏃♂️💨 It was all about speed and data in Mrs. Cliett’s 5th-grade discovery class this week! After researching the Olympics, they learned about Usain Bolt's record-breaking 100m dash! 📏✨ The students measured distances, recorded their times, and created line plots! 📊💖 #learningatlpe

Mrs. Cliett's first-grade discovery students set sail on a cruise ship adventure exploring Earth's oceans! 🌊 They learned about buoyancy and the science behind why big boats float. 🚢Then, the fun began as they designed and created their own tin foil ships! After testing how many passengers they could hold before sinking, they made refinements to improve their designs. #learningatlpe

🍏📚 Mrs. Cook’s first graders read “How to Make Apple Pie and See the World” —and got to enjoy a delicious treat afterward! 🥧🍎 The students loved trying apple pie after their literary adventure. #learningatlpe

🎤🎭 We kicked off our PBIS program in style with an exciting Masked Singer performance by some of our incredible staff! 🎶 Each song highlighted our Viking Values and expected behaviors, and the students had a blast trying to guess who was behind the mask! 😄 What a fun way to reinforce positive behavior! #learningatlpe

🎨✨ Painting with nature! 🍓🫐 Ms. Howling's Pre-K students had a blast creating colorful masterpieces using strawberries and blueberries! 🌈🍓🫐 Creativity and fun go hand-in-hand! #learningatlpe
