4th grade ELA students spent the week examining the topic of therapy dogs. They learned that therapy dogs can help support students in reading along with many other things. After writing informational essays, they got a surprise visit from Dewar's very own, Pretzel 🐾. Mrs. Dillard did a fantastic job explaining how Pretzel works and all about his journey to becoming the amazing therapy dog he is. We especially enjoyed getting to pet him and watch him do a few cool tricks.

📚🕷️ Our 2nd graders just took their learning to the next level! After diving into the book "Spiders" by Gail Gibbons, they had an incredible opportunity to see a real pink-toed tarantula brought by Mr. T from 5th grade! 🐍✨ The students loved asking questions and discovering more about these fascinating creatures.

Mrs. Hanson’s classes experienced scarcity by forming “countries” and attempting to “bake” chocolate chip cookies. After realizing no country had all the resources they needed, students had to trade and participate in voluntary exchange in order to obtain all of the needed ingredients. After that, each group specialized in 1-2 ingredients and saw first hand how specialization influences trade, supply, and demand. They celebrated all of their hard work by enjoying cookies. That is what we call sweet success!
