Excellence Every Day

Excellence every day is the standard for teaching and learning in Lowndes County Schools. The department of teaching and learning is committed to providing students and teachers the strategies and resources vital for success in grades PK-12. Providing quality work that is challenging is the primary focus of all instructional programs in Lowndes County Schools.

The purpose of the Lowndes County School System's Pre-Kindergarten - 12 curriculum is to ensure that all students have access to the same core of significant content at a specific instructional level, from teacher to teacher, and school to school. The staff in the Department of Teaching and Learning can provide information regarding the curriculum, the instructional program, professional development opportunities, federal programs (Title I, Title II), and the state-testing program.
