Congratulations to the May S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness for Everyone) Award Winners with Lowndes County Schools! The May winners are Archie Spates (Custodial Department) and Chimere “Ms. Mel” Jackson (School Nutrition Department) with Pine Grove Middle School (PGM). These dedicated employees were selected for this award for making safety their #1 priority! Each winner received a $50 gift and will be re-entered for a $100 drawing at the end of the school year. Valdosta Insurance Services sponsor this award.

 

Archie Spates loves his job and it shows!  He works diligently to make sure that PGM is clean and safe.  He is a team player who leads by example.  Archie is willing to do whatever is asked of him and he does it with a smile on his face.  He truly embodies being “All In” when it comes to cleanliness and safety at PGM! He is always pleasant and helpful, and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our facilities are safe and clean.  Archie responds quickly when there is a need, whether small or large.  Principal Sam Clemons Jr, said, “PGM is lucky to have him!”

 

Chimere “Ms. Mel” Jackson keeps the cafeteria running smoothly by exhibiting strong leadership skills.  She has been an asset to the school nutrition department since the start of this unprecedented school year.  She consistently ensures that the cafeteria is safe and efficient.  Ms. Mel is hardworking and friendly.  Safety and caring for the staff and students of PGM is her top priority.  “She is a vital part of the PGM family and demonstrates being “All In” every day”, said Principal Sam Clemons Jr.!  PGM is thankful for her and all her hard work!  Ms. Mel is very deserving of this award!
