Through her efforts, Lowndes County Schools has benefited from millions of dollars in grants to provide support such as mental health awareness, suicide prevention training, on-site mental health professionals, homeless education support, in-home tutoring, and other services for students. She is a certified Sources of Strength Trainer and spearheaded the Journey Program, which serves elementary and middle school students needing behavioral and emotional support while receiving their academics.

Mrs. Wilcher stated, “Teaching is a calling, it is a privilege, and it is always rewarding, worth every effort we make. Everything we do makes a difference in the future of a child. Every step we take, and every lesson we teach, is laying the foundation for the future of our community, our state, and our nation. Our students continue to achieve at high levels.
